While JFK was POTUS my father was stationed at Ellsworth AFB in SD and we lived off base in Rapid City. JFK flew into a different base and my dad was assigned to the flight reception crew. I was 9, the youngest and mom drove us to the base and it took hours to get there. We spent the night on little cots in a small top room over an airplane hangar all by ourselves. We giggled like we always did when it was just her and I. The next morning my dad got us for breakfast and then he reported for his assignment. When JFK’s plane landed we were pressed up close to the fence. When JFK was near my mom picked me up and practically threw me at him. He laughed and smiled and briefly held my right hand. What love and admiration we had for him and he seemed genuinely happy to see all of us.

Of course not a full year later we were sent home from school early. Nobody knew what the word “assassination” meant but I found out when I got home and found out my sweet beautiful mother collapsed the on floor, sobbing beyond comfort.

A few years later I was in a receiving area for the welcoming of Lyndon Baines Johnson to the city. Although I didn’t initiate it, a handshake between him and I took place. All I can recall was how meaty and beefy LBJ’s hand felt in comparison to JFK’s “normal” one.

When we (us conspiracy theorists) got the first hint that JFK Jr was possibly really not gone , I have allowed myself a small window of hope. Prayers for GOD’S will to be done. Protect the ones that YOU have anointed and appointed for such a time as this, Father.

Your will be done

Thanks for sharing such powerful memories!

I had a spiritual witness a few years ago that let me know he was alive and well and actively avenging his Fathers death.
