A couple of comments I wrote on Clifton Duncan’s Substack
Regarding music and the heart of the Thomas Sowell show…
Comment One
Please make this a Musical!
Even if a three hour fully musicalized version is not possible, you HAVE to share your amazing voice in at least ONE original song.
Thomas Sowell is one of my mentors. I could not be more excited about a project.
I just wrote a post on my stack…
Keep being YOU Clifton!
William Barker, the new intern at FAIR in the Arts and I just crafted a quick curriculum for those who want to craft the performing arts without Government money and/or control.
You are the perfect example of who we were attempting to illustrate.
Thank you for giving us a living example!
Much love and support!

Hi Jenny, I'm so glad you're excited, and thank you for your support.
I doubt a musical would be ideal, but that doesn't mean there can't be singing in the piece 😎
Healthy Families-Jenny Hatch on…
Ask Thomas what his favorite song is and sing a cover of it!
I bet it will be some classic jazz song that everybody already loves.
Comment two
I have been pondering this question of what to focus on ever since I read about your plans.
So many young people are seduced into Marxism but never really break out of the collective.
Sowell did.
That part of the story and his unwavering commitment to the facts are the heart of the man.
How did he stand strongly for individual rights and common sense economics amidst a whole gaggle of progressive individuals constantly pushing humanity towards global medical totalitarianism?
What is it that gave Thomas the fortitude to stand squarely in the truth when MOST of the intellectual class marched hard left, especially in creative spaces?
I will be praying for you every day Clifton and I know you will be guided to know what to include in your show.
Thomas has a highly developed sense of humor that showed up regularly during his television interviews.
I read his weekly column for many years and his sense of irony and general ridicule of progressivism was a tonic to me as I observed gradual American institutional capture by the hard left.
His book The Vision Of The Annointed: Self-congratulation As A Basis For Social Policy is my favorite!

From the description…
“One of America’s pre-eminent economists offers a provocative critique of the failures of liberalism
In The Vision of the Anointed, Thomas Sowell presents a devastating critique of the mind-set behind the failed social policies of the past thirty years. Sowell sees what has happened during that time not as a series of isolated mistakes but as a logical consequence of a tainted vision whose defects have led to crises in education, crime, and family dynamics, and to other social pathologies.
In this book, he describes how elites—the anointed—have replaced facts and rational thinking with rhetorical assertions, thereby altering the course of our social policy.“
Clifton, please do not allow yourself to be freaked out by your supporters. We are CHEERING for you! I trust that your play will capture the essence of Americas truth warrior!
Godspeed!
